Climate modeling is based on understanding the flows of radiation, both infrared and visible. This knowledge makes it possible to forecast the effects on local climate, since it determines the exchange of energy between the surface and the atmosphere, as well as the atmospheric and oceanic flows that together close the climate cycle on a global scale. In this way, it becomes possible to understand how human activity influences climate at both local and global levels, and to develop projections of the most likely future scenarios.
